welcome

December!!!
I'm so exited to say that most of our Christmas shopping for the kiddos is DONE!!!! Yyyyaaahhhoooooo! I'm so glad. In case you didn't get that. haha Oh I can't wait for the UPS or FEDEX guy to bring the presents!! Love that!! I usually bound out the door to greet them! Crazy farm girl!

We've got a cold snap going on this week, and let me tell you for those of you who don't milk critters in freezing temps, by hand...you don't know what your missing!! ha! You know your hands are cold (even with milking gloves) on when you put your hands on your cow and she sucks in a breath and looks at you with those large doe like brown eyes. I apologized to her. I felt bad. Or when the milk freezes to the pail as you milk her out. Or you bury your face into her warm body so you can be warm and not having your lungs burn from the cold. I actually like the smell of the cows. I know I'm weird, but I'm ok with that!
I've got some other farm stuff going on, but I'll save for another post. Tease!  Still can't do pics. I might have to move :(
Have a great day all! I gotta go lug water for the critters. Everything is frozen!

  1. It hasn't been that cold here yet. I am still milking one goat. I hope for a while longer, as I don't think she was bred back in Sept. They tried again the other day, so hopefully that worked.

  3. Wow, sounds cold! It's almost 80 here and I love it!!! Is blogger not letting you put pictures up? I read somewhere that after so many pics you have to pay. The person that wrote that said to copy and paste as many pictures as you can and not to upload so many. I didn't know if all that was true or not though :/

  4. Oh no! Poor Maggie! Glad that she lets you snuggle up against her though for some warmth. I can't imagine it being that cold, where her warm milk freezes in the pail before you finish?!? You're one tough cookie! Hope your cold spell snaps soon, and congrats on getting all the gifts done. :)

  5. You are so lucky to have a cow to milk and snuggle up to. Anyone who doesn't like the smell of cows is missing a lot.

  7. Cows smell so wonderful, don't they? I just sink my hands into the thick double fleece of my Icelandics for warmth. They are toasty! Congrats on being so far ahead for Christmas! And keep those fingers warm...
